Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Mary’s of the Lake:
Fr. Antony Thundathl is a priest of the Missionary Society of St. Thomas the Apostle (MST) and at present he is serving as the director of the MST priests working in United states and Canada.
The Missionary Society of St Thomas the Apostle– MST (www.mstworld.org) is a
homegrown missionary endeavor towards primary evangelization in India and abroad. The primary mission of the MST is to work among non-Christian people and to share with them the message of the Gospel of Christ in word and deed. Towards this purpose, the MST mainly chooses non-Christian areas for its mission, and work among other religious believers. The MST missionaries at present are working in 11 countries in the non-Christian regions in India, countries like Tanzania and in the developing countries like Brazil.
While working in the non-Christian territories, the MST priests undertake various apostolates or ministries to share the message of love, joy and hope of the Gospel. Different apostolates are the best means to share the compassion of the Lord and thus they engage in various humanitarian and charitable activities for human promotion. Working among the people with HIV-AIDS, running training and rehabilitation centers for the mentally and physically disabled, caring for the aged and the destitute boys and girls, running non-formal and formal centers of literacy, empowering the poor women with various self- financing programs, educating the street children and rag pickers are some of such apostolates.
As missionaries, the MST priests generally lead a simple life style and are adventurous, daring to undertake ministries and risky missions for the sake of Christ and his people. They have very few income generating programs and they depend on the divine providence for their sustenance and the maintenance of the humanitarian activities. Every support to the MST is going to strengthen the MST missionaries and to improve their service. Your support is going to brighten the lives of many unprivileged, to lighten the burdens of the oppressed and the Lord of compassion will smile at you through the lips of thousands of poor boys and girls. We appreciate your generous mind to help the mission work of the Church,
With prayers: MST
